Auto Speed Ramp

Choose an auto speed ramp preset to add energy to walkthroughs, reveals, and motion-heavy clips.

Auto speed ramp presets

Auto speed ramp presets speed up and slow down different parts of a clip without manual keyframing. Choose a preset when a walkthrough, reveal, or camera move needs more energy.

  • Click a video clip in the timeline.
  • Open the video settings panel on the right side of the editor.
  • Click the Speed tab.
  • Adjust the standard speed or choose a speed curve preset.

Choose the right speed ramp emotion

Each speed curve changes the feeling of the clip. Pick the preset based on the moment you want the viewer to feel, not just how fast you want the clip to move.

Pulse

Pulse creates a quick burst of energy in the middle of a shot. Use it for room reveals, hallway movement, or a moment that should feel punchy.

Use the intensity control when the pulse should feel subtle and polished, or stronger and more dramatic.

Flash In

Flash in starts with speed and settles into the shot. Use it when entering a space, moving toward a feature, or opening with a strong hook.

Use the intensity control to decide whether the entrance should feel quick and clean, or more dramatic and attention-grabbing.

Flash Out

Flash out holds attention first, then accelerates out. Use it when leaving a room, ending a detail shot, or moving into the next scene.

Use the intensity control to make the exit feel gently polished or more dramatic as the clip moves into the next moment.

Surge

Surge keeps building momentum toward the end. Use it for dramatic push-ins, exterior approaches, or clips that should feel more cinematic and emotional.

Use the intensity control to decide how strongly the shot should build, from a restrained cinematic push to a more energetic reveal.
